The Hidden Gems — Mysore, Karnataka

The Wanderer

To Mysore

It was a Shining Sunday and I wanted to explore a new place which happened to be MYSORE District. After a research something Unique to feel (Water’s) which is undetected underground, slow -moving brown & swollen. I came across (Tirumakudalu Narasipura) & (Dodda Ghosai Ghat).

What is it famous to See in T. Narsimpura, Karnataka ?

The Three rivers Kaveri, Kabini and Spatika Sarovara

The town so called Narasipura which is located on the right bank of KABINI RIVER and this is the place in south were Kumbhamela is held every 2 years once (as per the Coracle owner) who took us around the rivers. The Gunja Narasimha Swamy temple on the right bank and Tirumakudalu in Sanskrit (citation needed) at the confluence of the Kaveri, Kabini and Spatika Sarovara and it is enamoured by the confluence of the three rivers.

How to get there ?

We started to drive and left Bangalore city at 6:30 (Car) and on the Mysore road it was a Jump pack of Traffic due to Metro Constructions and the weather was chilling and anticipating to reach as soon as possible in order to spend more time to see beautiful nature on road surrounded with marvelous acres of agricultural lands filled with greenery both side on the way and beautiful small towns, with less pollutions. The amazing part was the roads were neat and smooth to drive from Mysore Highway (where you need to take a left in Maddur) heading towards Kollegal Road and passing over Bannur to reach T. Narsipura.

While we were closer to the town we could see the river under the bridge and I could hear the sound of water flowing, splashing & breathing with life and this is one of the good spots where all the rivers join and we did corcole with family and kids. The cost per heard ( Rs. 60) and it is around 30–40 minutes in the river between the 3 temples.

Distance from Bengaluru to Tirumakudalu Narasipur is around 131 km and travelling takes around 3 h 14 min also they are buses easily hourly bus from Bengaluru Bus stand (like Kalasipalya).

What is there to see in Dodda Ghosai Ghat? Which we heard in T. Narasipura.

It was quite hot in T. Narasipura and it was very thirsty indeed and visited a shop near the Temple and was enquiring with shopkeeper to recommend a good spot near by for us to visit and the shopkeeper mentioned Dodda Ghosai Ghat, Srirangapatana, Mysore.

The temple is near the banks of the river Kaveri (DODDA GHOSAI GHAT)

The spot is Sri Kashi Vivesvara Temple Gosai Ghat and the temple is near the banks of the river Kaveri and it is also one of the important tourist and shooting spots. It was interesting and exciting to visit this spot and it was 50 KM (1 Hr drive) from T. Narasipura to DODDA GHOSAI GHAT and we started around noon.

It is a relatively lesser known spot is Gosai Ghats which is close by. It is not just for religious purposes but for family and friends it is a lovely spot and also a picnic spot and a quick swim!! But, one would expect not so tidy, but you’d be pleasantly surprised that this shallow river bank is perfect for a family picnic and a quick swim.

We had a good time with family and in one day we managed to visit the 2 spots which are one of the important tourist attractions in Mysore District and (HIDDEN GEMS), Karnataka and try to visit more in Leisure spots…
